The Story of The Thunder Dog

Raad Story

There was a dog named 'Raad' who lived in the Ouachtam forests in northern Morocco. 'Raad' was a strong and brave dog with thick fur and distinctive colors that combined white and black. But behind those beautiful features, there was a story filled with suffering and pain. 'Raad' had a tough life since he was young. He was initially part of a group of dogs used by hunters, but his life took a tragic turn when he got caught in a metal trap, injuring one of his legs. He was left in the forest, injured and hungry, struggling to survive. His wounds were festering and filled with worms, emitting an unbearable stench. 'Raad' was unresponsive, barely breathing. One day, a young man named Chaker was taking his flock of sheep, consisting of five lambs, to graze in the forest. During that round, he heard a faint groaning sound coming from among the dense trees. Chaker followed the sound and found 'Raad' lying down, suffering from pain and hunger, and it seemed like he was on the brink of death. Without hesitation, Chaker picked up 'Raad' and took him back to his home in Ouachtam. When they reached home, Chaker began cleaning and treating 'Raad's' wound, despite the awful smell and the worms infesting his wounds. He gave him water using a plastic tube, as 'Raad' was unable to drink on his own. Chaker carefully and patiently cleaned his wounds, dried him off, and provided some warmth for him. Chaker placed food in front of 'Raad', but the dog couldn't eat or show any response. The first day passed with difficulty, as there was no sign of improvement in his condition. But the next day, after being cleaned and having his wounds carefully dressed, 'Raad' began to show signs of improvement. He started eating some food, and slowly regained some of his strength. Chaker had no option to take 'Raad' to a specialized veterinarian due to the lack of money and the distance from the city where veterinary clinics are located. Therefore, he relied on his basic knowledge and his determination to save 'Raad's' life. 'Raad's' survival and transformation to his current state was nothing short of a divine miracle, and it taught Chaker an important life lesson: no matter how tough and harsh the circumstances, mercy and hope can be found at the end of the pain. Today, 'Raad' is a symbol of courage and hope in the 'Chaker Association'. His story reminds everyone that there is always hope in life, no matter how difficult the circumstances. The association continues to support Chaker, raising funds and providing the necessary resources to care for more dogs like 'Raad', with the aim of realizing Chaker's vision of establishing the largest dog shelter in Morocco.
